Available in 11 different versions, the newest version of Fiat’s hugely popular small van boasts more interior volume, lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and improved styling. Little wonder, then, that it was a winner at the What Van? Awards 2013.
A crucial innovation is the bi-link rear suspension. At the same time as providing maximum grip and control and reducing vibration, its compact design minimises intrusion into the loading area. The result is class-leading load capacity of 3.4 cubic metres. Meanwhile the dimensions of the cargo bay (a minimum of 1820mm long, 1518mm wide and 1305mm high), along with its low loading height of just 545mm and maximum payload of up to 1,000kg, makes it suitable for carrying two standard pallets of extremely bulky or heavy cargo.
The Doblo Cargo comes with a choice of three refined MultiJet diesel engines, all of which provide the low running costs crucial to businesses in challenging times. The 1.3 litre, 90hp unit provides the greatest combined fuel economy and lowest carbon output at 56.5mpg (58.9mpg with Start & Stop technology) and 133g/km (126g/km with Start & Stop). The most powerful diesel, the 1.6 litre 105hp variant, offers tremendous pulling power, with maximum torque of 290Nm at 1,500rpm and only slightly higher running costs (as low as 54.3mpg and 136g/km with Start & Stop).
