Q. If I take out a finance agreement when will the first repayment be due?A. The first monthly payment will be due 1 month after the date of collection.
Q. My FIAT handbook refers to a "CODE CARD" but I have not got one. A. At the request of the insurance companies in the UK the CODE CARD is not sent out with the car. The CODE CARD is kept by the International Security Register and we are able to access this for you for emergency starting and coding of replacement keys.
Q. What do I do if the AIR BAG failure warnig light comes on?A. If the light stays on after the engine has been started this could indicate a failure of the safety retainng systems and in the event of a collision the air bags may not deploy. Contact us immediately so that we may investigate the reason and rectify any malfunction.
Q. What should I do if my fuel injection warning light comes on?A. This warning light shows when the engine management systems detect a problem with the fuel injection system that may cause damage to the catalytic convertor. If this light flashes, book the car in for an immediate service and refrain from driving any distance. If this warning light is on permanently, do not drive the car and contact us for assistance. Driving the car in this condition will cause permanent damage to the catalytic convertor.
Q. What do I do if the ABS warning light comes on?A. This indicates that the anti-skid function in the braking system may not be operating correctly although the rest of the braking system will still work. However it is obviously advisable to return to our service department as soon as possible.
Q. Do I have to have my Fiat serviced by an official FIAT franchised dealer to keep the warranty valid?A. Under EU regulations a car manufacturer cannot insist that its cars are seviced solely by its own franchised dealers. However the servicing agent must be a bona fida VAT registered operation and GENUINE FIAT PARTS must be used including the correct grade of Selenia oil which Fiat cars are designed to use. Using an official dealer such as Rockingham Cars does have a number of important advantages. We will advise our customers of the correct times that servicing is required, we operate a competitive FIXED PRICE menu pricing system so that there are no nasty surprises. Every car that passes through our service department is checked through our direct computer link with Fiat for any updates or free technical improvements that Fiat make from time to time, This is not available to non-franchise dealers. Additionally, as we have been solely dealing with Fiat cars for over 27 years we have a far superior knowledge of all aspects of the Fiat product.We have seen a number of instances where incorrect servicing or poor repairs have led to cars requiring further rectification when correctly diagnosed by our Fiat factory trained technicians. Q. How long is the warranty on a a new FIAT?A. All new FIAT cars supplied by Rockingham Cars include a 3 YEAR / 60,000 MILE warranty at no extra cost. AA membership for 1 year is also included. However not all FIAT cars supplied by other car supermarkets, non-franchised traders or internet operators have the same warranty and may even make additional charges to attempt to replicate our warranty. In addition to this we also offer a courtesy car service free of charge to all our Fiat purchasers should a car be off the road.
