There are two variants of the new Fiat 500X, each one representing a different driving dynamic. The 500X Off-Road model is the embodiment of an off-road vehicle, with a powerful look that readily communicates its performance potential. On the other hand, the 500X City Look is the perfect example of an urban-focused city vehicle. By representing each of these aspects, Fiat has created a pleasing aesthetic contrast between the two models.
The Off-Road Look model is compact and sturdy, its shape enhancing the assertive stance. It arrives with 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels and exterior chrome details which give the car a stylish flair. Features specifically inspired by its off-road nature include the unique front and rear bumpers, and the roof rack with matt grey treatment. The City Look edition also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, emphasising its “go-anywhere" capabilities. Inside, Off-Road customers will enjoy Eco-Leather/Fabric upholstery, and a 3.5-inch TFT Digital Display. Automatic dual-zone climate control is included, as is ambient interior lighting for the creation of a personal atmosphere. The City Look also features dual-zone climate control, as well as the TFT Digital Display. Unique features include a leather steering wheel with steering wheel-mounted controls, and a soft-touch dashboard.
The 500X line is powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines, including a 1.4-litre capacity turbo MultiAir II engine, which generates a top speed of 118mph and enables the Fiat 500X to reach 0-60mph in approximately nine seconds. Gearboxes are available in five or six-speed manual, or twin-clutch six-speed automatic transmission. Sophisticated safety systems include Blind Spot Assist, which warns the driver of any obstacles while trying to change lanes, and Brake Control, which detects the potential for collision and automatically applies the brakes. A rear-view camera is also included, allowing for a greater level of visibility while parking and reversing.
